Prof. Dr. Hasan Sohaib Murad (Late) had the vision for the Dr Hasan Murad School of Management (HSM) to launch a research journal in the subject area of each of its academic department. He assigned this mission to Prof. Robert F. Wheeler III (Dean HSM at that time), who in consultation with Prof. Dr. Maqbool H. Sial (Director, CGR) established the Journals Secretariat as a subsidiary hierarchy within CGR.
The journal secretariat initially comprised of an Advisor Publications and Manager Publication (Technical) reporting to the Director CGR; 5 Editorial Assistants working independently on separate research journal and reporting to Advisor Publications; and one Associate Linguistic Expert reporting to the Manager Publication (Technical). The journal secretariat has been assigned to provide the logistic support to the academic journals in launching and operationalizing the research journals in their research area. However, all decision making related to the research journals has been the responsibility of the Editors-in-Chief of the respective journals. Later, the hierarchy of the journal secretariat has been redefined as the position of the Advisor Publications has been removed and the Editorial Assistants now have to report to their respective Chairperson of the Department.
